The ICWCT is a biennial course run since 1984 by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, in partnership with ICCROM and NTNU. It focuses on conserving wooden buildings and objects, including exteriors, interiors, sculptures, and furniture — especially within “buildings of faith”. The course runs in two parts: an online section from March to June 2026, and an in-person workshop in Norway in June. Participants spend about 20 hours per week on theory, workshops, study tours, and a final exam. Successful students earn 15 ECTS credits from NTNU.
