Alba Baeza (Barcelona, 1986) is a curator and writer based in Stockholm. Since 2016 she is part of the curatorial team at Statens konstråd / Public Art Agency Sweden, where she is involved in several contemporary art commissions throughout Sweden, among others with artists Danh Vo, Katharina Grosse, Huang Yong Ping, Goldin+Senneby, Hanna Ljungh, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané and Allora & Calzadilla. Between 2012 and 2018 Alba Baeza was Assistant Curator to Rosa Martínez, taking part among other projects in the exhibitions Constellation Malta (2018) in the Maltese archipelago, Intimacy is Political (2017) at Centro Cultural Metropolitano in Quito, Ecuador, Fear Nothing She Says (2015-2016) at the National Museum of Sculpture in Valladolid, Spain; and the exhibition series What to Think. What to Desire. What to Do (2012-2013) at Caixaforum Barcelona, Spain.
In Sweden, Alba Baeza has curated Victoria Verseau’s solo exhibition Through the Looking Glass (2016) at hangmenProjects and has organised public programmes such as Palestinian Cinema: Solidarity Through Film (2017) at Tensta konsthall, or The Roaming Institute (2017) at Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation. She has held public talks with artists such as VALIE EXPORT, Carin Ellberg or Victoria Verseau and has contributed to several exhibition catalogues and art magazines, among them Flash Art International. She often participates in lectures in academic institutions such as the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm or Goldsmiths University in London.
